Nevercrew - Ordering Machine

Every year in June since already three years now, the association of Spacejunk in Grenoble (art center) organises the very cool Grenoble Street Art Fest. Last year was a very good edition, with more than 40 artists involved in the creation of more than 100 paintings disseminated into the city.
It is unique opportunity for citizens to discover street art and see how these artists work and express themsleves through there drawings. For the city, it definitely decorates it and helps to question each of us, because most of these works aims at deliver a social message.
As June is coming soon with the 2017 edition, it is a good chance for me to remember my favorite painting of last year: "Ordering Machine" by Nevercrew, 26 rue Bergers, Grenoble, France.
And now, can't wait for the Street Art Fest 2017!

My son's room

We have recently renovated the room of our son, as the rest of our house. The wallpaper was too old and we wanted a new fresh color.
First we had to remove the old wallpaper. This was the easiest part. Then we had to prepare the walls by removing the old plaster that was falling by himself, opening the holes, and cleaning the walls with a special washing powder. Same steps for the ceiling.
After that the walls were cleaned, we had to apply spackle on the nail holes. Then we plastered the entire surface of the walls with a finishing compounds, before to gently sand them to get a smooth surface. At this step we painted the ceiling. To finish, we used a primer before to apply two layers of "icy blue" painting.
And here is the result!

366 Concept Armchair

I recently bought a 366 Armchair. Actually I wanted to buy an armchair since a while but I was looking for the right one. I wanted a chair not too big, made of wood and velvet, and with a scandinavian or 60's design, or both!
Fortunalty, the Polish design was recently reviving by the 366 Company. 366 is a series of furniture based on the model 366 Easy Chair designed by Jozef Chierowski in 1962. At that time, it became one of the most popular Polish furniture items from the 1950s-1960s. This model was produced for more than 20 years, and about 500 000 chairs were sold through the Eastern Europe.
Now, the 366 Company decided to restart the production in Poland, as well as others famous designs from Jozef Chierowski. The 366 chair is then available in various fabrics, and 6 colors of oak.
I chose mine in "Lemonade" velvet and dark oak. Velvet because I wanted something cosy and soft. "Lemonade" because I wanted a cheerful color and something new in my home (I don't use yellows on the walls but I think it is a really nice color for furnitures). And for the oak's color, I hesitated a lot between "oak" and "dark oak" before to finally choose oak. "Oak" may have give a more scandinavian style to this chair. But regarding my others furnitures and also because I though that dark oak would give more character to my home, I ordered it like that!
For now the chair is in my son's room as there are still works on going in the living room, but I hope that soon I will be able to move it into the lounge and enjoy it for my reading and tea moments!

Origami pendant light fitting

I was looking for an original but not too expensive pendant light fitting for my son's room, and I found on the web that the recent tendancy for Origami lampe-shade was very interesing one! After few hours on my laptop and several trials with white papers, I finaly found the right tutorial to manage to do it by myself.
There is actually nothing really difficult to use Origami folding technic to make a nice lamp-shape, but you would definitely need to be very patient, calm and meticulous. First, you must be very precise when you draw the lines to follow for the folding. If you miss one milimeter, it could impact the whole shape after folding. Then, from my point of view, the difficult part is the folding itself: you must precisely follow the lines, otherwise, at the end you won't manage to shape it! And the most important are the angles!!
For the installation, I added to my pendant a black textile thread and a metallic-gold socket to the bulb.
I thank the community for sharing the good tutorials because it is a really nice idea, and particularly Lemon Rock for the precise guidlines!
